[Lapack] cblas installation

I am trying to install CBLAS on Debian 5.02. I tought that I could install
it correctly but some of the test files are not working. They give something
like this:

hostel:/usr/src/CBLAS# make alltst2
( cd testing ; make all2 )
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/CBLAS/testing'
gfortran -o xscblat2 c_sblat2.o c_sblas2.o c_s2chke.o auxiliary.o
c_xerbla.o /usr/src/CBLAS/lib/LINUX/cblas_LINUX.a /usr/lib/libblas.a
/usr/lib/libblas.a(xerbla.o): In function `xerbla_':
(.text+0x0): multiple definition of `xerbla_'
c_xerbla.o:c_xerbla.c:(.text+0x340): first defined here
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [xscblat2] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/CBLAS/testing'
make: *** [alltst2] Error 2

Could you propose a method to get rid of this error? I am using gfortran as
the compiler, do you think it is the problem? Thank you very much in
