You do not have generated the blas library
Try make blaslib command..

I'm trying to install lapack-3.2.1 as per the online instructions, but
unfortunately a 'make' bombs with the following output:

../../tmglib_LINUX.a ../../lapack_LINUX.a   ../../blas_LINUX.a -o
xlintsts && mv xlintsts ../xlintsts
gfortran: ../../blas_LINUX.a: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [../xlintsts] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/lapack-3.2.1/TESTING/LIN'
make[1]: *** [xlintsts] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/lapack-3.2.1/TESTING'
make: *** [lapack_testing] Error 2

This is a fresh install on a Scientific Linux 4.3 machine with gcc
v3.4.5 and gfortran v4.0.2. I'm using the standard
file and am intending to install all of the routines for one
user to utilise.

Can you make any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
