Up to 1.8, ScaLAPACK only supports parallelism through message passing.
(Instantiated either through PVM or MPI.)
You can have multithreaded parallelism at the BLAS level.
For example on an 8 nodes machines with 4 cores per node, you can run 16
processes and then have the BLAS number of threads set to 2.
That would make some sense. However, this is not an ideal situation.
