BLACS tester doesn't run properly

Postby syam » Mon Jun 12, 2006 4:13 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to compile BLACS on our opteron cluster using our default compilers (pathscale). The kernel is 2.6.9-22.7hp.XCsmp, and the MPI library is HP-MPI. I can compile both the library and the tester without a problem, but when I run the tester, the program gets stuck during the stage

RUNNING REPEATABLE SUM TEST

in the last section (AUXILIARY TESTS). At this point, only one copy of the program continues to run using 100% of the CPU, with the rest of the copies running idle. After many hours, there was no output, so I had to kill the program.

Any ideas what went wrong?

I found the problem - this is the documented (http://www.netlib.org/blacs/blacs_errata.html#wallmac) DWALLTIME00() bug in the BLACS library. After I applied the suggested patch, the tester completed without errors.
