Compile ScaLAPACK in Windows with gfortran and MS-MPI

Postby cyamin » Tue Mar 18, 2014 7:14 am

Hello,

I am a new and inexperienced user and I need to compile ScaLAPACK (as a pre-requisite to MUMPS) in Windows(x64)/gfortran/MS-MPI configuration. So far I have found instructions to compile in Visual Studio only. All my attempts to compile with make under MSYS/mingw-w64 (with my limited knowledge) have failed at the BLACS part.

The question is whether it is possible to compile ScaLAPACK with this configuration at this stage.

Best regards,
Costas

Check this out http://icl.cs.utk.edu/lapack-for-window ... #libraries
You may actually don't need to build the libraries.

There should be a way to get it with open-source compiler (like we did with LAPACK - http://icl.cs.utk.edu/lapack-for-window ... html#build), none dare to try yet...

Hello,

I am giving it a second try, this time with the MSYS2 environment (see post http://icl.cs.utk.edu/lapack-forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4848). In the meantime, i tried to use the precompiled ScaLAPACK libraries for Windows, but in order to make them usable with mingw-w64 I need to convert them to .a libraries and for that I also need the .dll part. Although the prebuilt libraries for LAPACK include the .dll files, the ScaLAPACK counterpart don't.

Is it possible to post the .dll for ScaLAPACK as well?

Regards,
Costas
