Manpage tarball sha256 hash change?

Postby schwager-hsph » Thu Mar 17, 2016 1:57 pm

Hi all,

Did the manpage tarball recently change intentionally?
This link, specifically: http://netlib.org/lapack/manpages.tgz

The Homebrew team has a package to install lapack using homebrew. Part of that package also installs the manpages for lapack.
Recently, the package has failed to install because the SHA256 hash for the manpages tarball changed from 055da7402ea807cc16f6c50b71ac63d290f83a5f2885aa9f679b7ad11dd8903d to 96d6d37b49e01143cf27e1980534ee21e01de6e93c1455c63d1e0a799f799dcb.

c.f. https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-dupes/pull/580

If it's an intentional change, we'll update the package definition over at homebrew and be on our merry way.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

Randall

Yes, indeed we recently changed the manpages tarball.
It was updated to reflect the manpages for LAPACK 3.6.0.

The LAPACK Manpages can now be auto-generated from the LAPACK package itself. (Make man)
I would recommend this approach.
The link on the webpage is only a tgz of the manpages generated directly from the package and we forgot to update the symbolic link on the website after the latest LAPACK release

Thanks for the quick response!

I must be missing something though. It says make doesn't know how to make man?:

Code: Select all
[vagrant@uiswhwks1290033 lapack-3.6.0]$ ls
bin                  CMakeLists.txt           DartConfiguration.tcl        lapack.pc             make.inc.example
BLAS                 CPackConfig.cmake        DOCS                         lapack.pc.in          README
CBLAS                CPackSourceConfig.cmake  INSTALL                      lapack-targets.cmake  SRC
CMAKE                CTestConfig.cmake        lapack_build.cmake           lapack_testing.py     Testing
CMakeCache.txt       CTestCustom.cmake        lapack-config.cmake          lib                   TESTING
CMakeFiles           CTestCustom.cmake.in     lapack-config-version.cmake  LICENSE
cmake_install.cmake  CTestTestfile.cmake      LAPACKE                      Makefile
[vagrant@uiswhwks1290033 lapack-3.6.0]$ make man
make: *** No rule to make target `man'.  Stop.

Whoops! Don't run cmake first. I'm all set.
Thanks!
