It seems there are some incompatibilites from C++ of VS and Linux. I am reading some threads talking about similar issue, just googled this:

cl.exe doesn't support the -std
But it seems more like a change on the codebase of the project than from your side.

Hello I am also trying to build magma in windows, without success so far. I wonder,were there particular problems that you encountered in building MAGMA, using the directions in README-Windows? Did you try another version of Windows? As far as I know, Windows 10 tend to have installed its own libraries of .NET and maybe that is creating some conflicts with CPP

Why not putting the following commands as part of the makefile rules?

    cd build
    rm *    # clean out stale cache
    cmake ..

Do you know if there is possible to use some containerized env to make it work? for example, using a docker container, which will contain all needed (SO, libs, etc)? thanks!
