neural networks

Is anyone using Magma for machine learning---in particular for neural networks? From C? Is there any public code? Are there any benchmarks to compare it to other software (such as Theano or Octave)?

(I've found it hard to search for Magma on Google and other places because it's not a unique name.)

R binding is obsolete?

This page shows Magma bindings for R
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/magma/index.html

But the last update was 26 months ago and the dependency looks really old:
MAGMA shared libraries (== release 0.2)

And there is no support for Windows.

Any news about using Magma from R?

I would be interested in it if there were an active project supporting it with documentation, examples, an issue tracker, regular updates, etc.
