Help please with choice of forums

I have been active on this forum for some time and have asked many questions and reported many findings. I was recently at the EASC 2013 conference in Edinburgh and heard Jack Dongarra speak about the challenges of Exascale computing, and also of some of the other projects which are alongside MAGMA....

Re: NaN errors with dpotrf and dpotrf_gpu

Thank you. I have not been active here for a long time. I am just restarting. I can see some light being shed on the reasons for strange inconsistencies. If they are specific to cheaper hardware such as mine that is worth knowing.

Re: NaN bug in MAGMAblas dgemm

I wonder if this report could be the reason for the other bug which I have just reported for 1.3.0 with DSGESV - that a NaN is picked up from unset memory not actually used in the calculation. That would explain why the memory error happens only sometimes.

Re: Further NaN problem with dsgesv_gpu

Hello I have just started to test with MAGMA 1.3.0 and I am still getting this bug with DSGESV which I reported in early 2011. Note the line starting 7520. John fletcher@fletcher-desktop:~/magma-1.3.0/testing$ ./testing_dsgesv_gpu MAGMA 1.3.0 device 0: GeForce GTX 460, 1400.0 MHz clock, 2047.2 MB me...

Re: Multicore and MultiGPU use of MAGMA

It is some time since I last enquired about this. I would like to ask whether there is any consideration of use of Global Arrays to enable multiCPU use with MAGMA.

See http://www.emsl.pnl.gov/docs/global/

I cannot see any prior reference on this list.

Re: Get version of MAGMA

Please do this, it is useful to be able to document at run time what version has been used.

Please also note that in the ReleaseNotes of V 1.2.1 the new entries are marked "1.x.x", itself a bug to be corrected.

Re: SVD on Magma

Just to add to the old thread some tests with Magma 1.2.1 and OpenBLAS. ~/magma-1.2.1/testing$ ./testing_dgesvd device 0: GeForce GTX 460, 1400.0 MHz clock, 2047.2 MB memory, capability 2.1 Usage: testing_dgesvd -M 1024 -N 1024 N CPU Time(s) GPU Time(s) ||R||_F / ||A||_F ============================...

MAGMA and OpenACC

Is there any relationship either now or intended, between MAGMA and the OpenACC standard?

Re: Multicore and MultiGPU use of MAGMA

Mark Thank you. The most essential for us are ZGETRF and ZGETRS and the MAGMA and ParLAPACK equivalents. Our codes are in FORTRAN. We have versions which run to solve large problems on an array of computers using ParLAPACK and would like to be able to do the same thing on a series of computers each ...
