How to join/contribute to magma?

I read in another topic that contributions are welcome. The project is open to foreign participation? I think some people here at my university would like to join the team:)

For now we have not set yet formal design and implementation guidelines to facilitate contributions to MAGMA as the current MAGMA (version 0.1) is an alpha release and some of its design choices can be changed (we are still considering various issues related to software design, interfaces, portability, etc.).
