MAGMA provides implementations for CUDA, OpenCL, and Intel Xeon Phi. The latest releases are MAGMA 1.5.0, clMAGMA 1.1, and MAGMA MIC 1.1, respectively. The libraries available for download are listed below in the order of their release dates.

MAGMA 1.3 is now available. This release provides performance improvements and support for the new NVIDIA Kepler GPUs. More information is given in the MAGMA: a New Generation of Linear Algebra Libraries for GPU and Multicore Architectures SC12 presentation.

MAGMA MIC 0.3
2012-11-13

MAGMA MIC 0.3 is now available. This release provides implementations for MAGMA's one-sided dense matrix factorizations (LU, QR, and Cholesky) for Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessors. More information on the approach and the current performance is given in this presentation.

clMAGMA 1.0

clMAGMA is an OpenCL port of MAGMA, intended for a single GPU. It supports AMD GPUs. The clMAGMA library dependancies, in particular optimized GPU OpenCL BLAS and CPU optimized BLAS and LAPACK for AMD hardware, can be found in the AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing Math Libraries (APPML).

Included in the clMAGMA 1.0 release are routines for the following algorithms:

  • LU, QR, and Cholesky factorizations in both real and complex  arithmetic (single and double);
  • Linear and least squares solvers based on correspondingly the LU/Cholesky and QR factorizations in both real and complex  arithmetic (single and double);
  • Reductions to Hessenberg, bidiagonal, and tridiagonal forms using orthgonal similarity transformationsin both real and complex arithmetic (single and double);
  • Eigen and singular value problem solvers in both real and complex arithmetic (single and double);
  • Orthogonal transformation routines.

MAGMA 1.2.1

MAGMA 1.2.1 is now available. This release provides the following new functionalities and improvements:

  • Fix bug in [zcsd]getrf_gpu.cpp;
  • Fix workspace requirement for SVD in [zcsd]gesvd.cpp;
  • Fix a bug in freeing pinned memory (in interface_cuda/alloc.cpp);
  • Fix a bug in [zcsd]geqrf_mgpu.cpp;
  • Fix zdotc to use cblas for portability;
  • Fix uppercase entries in blas/lapack headers;
  • Use magma_int_t in blas/lapack headers, and fix sources accordingly;
  • Fix magma_is_devptr error handling;
  • Add magma_malloc_cpu to allocate CPU memory aligned to 32-byte boundary for performance and reproducibility;
  • Fix memory leaks in latrd* and zcgeqrsv_gpu
  • Remove dependency on CUDA device driver
  • Add QR with pivoting in CPU interface (functions [zcsd]geqp3)
  • Add hegst/sygst Fortran interface
  • Improve performance of gesv CPU interface by 30%
  • Improve performance of ungqr/orgqr CPU and GPU interfaces by 30%; more for small matrices.
