Postby weifu » Mon Jul 05, 2010 4:59 am

Hi all,

I am a new user of papi. I wrote a simple test which only call PAPI_library_init, but when it run
I got the follow error:

fcntl: Bad file descriptor
PAPI Error: vperfctr_open() returned NULL, please run perfex -i to verify your perfctr installation.

The /dev/perfctr is readable. When I run perfex -i, the result is the follow:

PerfCtr Info:
abi_version 0x05020501
driver_version 2.6.36
cpu_type 18 (Intel Core 2)
cpu_features 0x7 (rdpmc,rdtsc,pcint)
cpu_khz 1595931
tsc_to_cpu_mult 1
cpu_nrctrs 5
cpus [0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7], total: 8
cpus_forbidden [], total: 0

Can anyone help me fix this error?

Thanks,
weifu

Were you ever able to resolve this problem?
Can you run the PAPI ctests?
