Extensible and Malleable
Resource Catalog is designed for extensibility:
- supports arbitrary data types,
arbitrary digital signature types
Resource Catalog can be modified as needed; experimentation with RC is part of the research
Many RC features are proposed for LDAP, but standardization will be slow
RC is purpose-built, therefore small (10k lines) and easily modified
SNIPE goals cannot be met with COTS LDAP
