how to release GPU process

When multiple processes starts to use GPU for magma_ccgetrf, we observe crashes inside magma_cgetrf. As a possible remedy, we decided to use GPU exclusively, i.e., one process at a time. However, in my process, magma_cgetrf is used around 20%-30% of the whole execution time. Matrix setup then solve ...

Multiple hybrid gpu linear solver

Hi All, I see that magma has no multiple gpu linear solver where the matrix is initially in CPU host memory, e.g., there is no magma_cgesv_m routine. There is the multiple gpu factorization routine, e.g., magma_cgetrf_m, but the fw/bw LU solvers are all gpu versions, i.e., there is no magma_cgetrs_m...

magma_init returns MAGMA_SUCCESS with no GPU

Hi, I realized that on a server where CUDA drivers are installed but there is no GPU magma_init() returns SUCESS. Is it something expected? (nvidia-smi gives "NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and runnin...

GPU_TARGET selection affects performance?

Hi, In a topic (https://icl.cs.utk.edu/magma/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1562&p=4385&hilit=GPU_TARGET+architecture#p4385) I see that magma optimization is done by considering the target GPU architecture (GPU_TARGET in make.inc). Does that mean if we select all relevant GPU architectures (for instance ...
