Re: Compilation error on Windows in zlaqps3_gpu.cu

Lol so I went into zlaqps3_gpu.cu and all other files which use copysign and replaced x = copysign(x, y); with if (x<0 && y>0 || x>0 && y<0) x = -x; and things are compiling fine again. I'm wondering if copysign was a macro for something like the above (using the ternary operator) in Windows 7 but h...

Compilation error on Windows in zlaqps3_gpu.cu

I've learned to expect Windows builds to be a nightmare, but this surprises me, as it's unclear how it could arise from a faulty environment: [..compiling fine...] nvcc -O3 -DADD_ --compiler-options -DWIN64 -DWINDOWS -DWIN -DGPUSHMEM=200 -DHAVE_CUBLAS -gencode arch=compute_20,code=sm_20 -gencode arc...

Re: Undefined reference to cuda functions within libmagma

Figured it out, the libraries were getting called in the wrong order! For future reference--getting the gcc invocation for a specific testing function can be done using the 'touch' command, that's what I did to finally pull out how MAGMA was building the examples.

Undefined reference to cuda functions within libmagma

When I try to run a program that uses magma, I get errors like this /home/matt/Libraries/magma/magma-1.4.0/lib/libmagma.a(sgemm_fermi.cu_o):-1: In function `__device_stub__Z23fermiSgemm_v2_kernel_NNPfPKfS1_iiiiiiffii(float*, float const*, float const*, int, int, int, int, int, int, float, float, int...

crash testing strsv, using OpenBLAS

testing_sblas crashes within this block of code: // ----- test STRSV // solve A*c = c, with A m*m triangular; c m-vector // try upper/lower, no-trans/trans, unit/non-unit diag // Factor A into LU to get well-conditioned triangles, else solve yields garbage. // Still can give garbage if solves aren't...

Re: Deploying apps which use Magma

Hi Stan, Thanks for replying. I've never written/deployed an app that is (or uses a library which is) sensitive to different hardware configurations the way MAGMA is. So is the idea that I would provide the user with the option of downloading either the CPU or GPU version binary, both of which could...

Deploying apps which use Magma

Sorry for what is probably a very simplistic question, but if my application uses Magma, will it work on a machine that doesn't have a nVidia card? Obviously, its full potential won't be reached. But will it fall back on pure CPU computation where the graphics card isn't there, so that the user will...
